Carson spent 10 ½ long months in various hospitals. Thankfully, most of these hospitalizations were covered through our health insurance. But even with insurance, Carson will have many uninsured injury-related expenses such as: home modifications, the cost of an accessible van, rehab therapy not covered by insurance and the durable equipment to maintain this therapy, along with a companion service dog. The CDC estimates that an individual living with a spinal cord injury will have between $500,000 and $3 million dollars in lifetime out-of-pocket expenses. During the many months since Carson’s accident, many friends and family members have asked “is there is anything we can do…?” This is where you can help.
To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Carson’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only. If you would like to make a contribution please click the DONATE NOW button.
Carson is hopeful for his future and is thankful to be alive and to still have the use of his arms. He’ll be pursuing his passions and furthering his education in science and horticulture.
Your concern and prayers have sustained us, and should any of you wish to donate Carson’s campaign, we will greatly appreciate your help. Together, we can make a difference for Carson.
Sincerely,
Julie Nisley
I'd like to wish everyone reading this the best New Year's yet!
I'm so grateful to God for His subtle presence in our life..
My son Carson is healthier than he's been since before his accident, but still not nearly as strong. His spirits are pretty good and he's open to new experiences.
He's looking forward, not back.
I'd also like to thank everyone for their prayers and support, both in thought
and financially. If, by chance, you are looking to donate or someone or something for tax benefits before years end? We'd be grateful for your help..
Carson's Campaign is tax deductible. All donations (but not donators) are kept confidential so we do not see donation amounts. Every little bit helps!
We thank you for your generosity and may God keep you and your family safe and well.
We got great news from the neurosurgeon!
Carson will not need another surgery to finish the fusion of his spine!
It's another THANKS be to GOD!
We'd also like to thank everyone who graciously and generously donated to Carson's campaign.
Carson's working hard to gain more independence, and stay healthy and out of the hospital!

You are the strongest person I know. You are a fighter, and a very loving, kind hearted man. No one deserves help, more then you do. My love goes out to you, and your family.
