My father, William McLean, Jr. is a 57 year old man who is very ill. Nine years ago he was diagnosed with end stage renal failure. After years of dialysis treatments, Dad is hoping to receive a life-saving kidney transplant very soon.
Dad is the loving husband of Beverly, father to six and proud grandfather of three grandsons, one granddaughter and good friend to many. Your kindness and support could give him a second chance of returning to good health, living a vibrant, energetic life and enjoying and nurturing his grandchildren for years to come. He needs the help of family, friends and the community to make it happen.
Transplants are lifesaving but very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that Dad is facing and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, lab fees, travel to and from the transplant center and he will need to relocate for up to six months at the time of transplant. In addition, Dad will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications.
A fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. If we all work together we can make Dad’s prospects for the future much brighter. On behalf of Dad, Mom and our families, thank you for your kindness, generosity support and prayers. Keep an eye on his campaign page because we will be planning some fundraising events soon and posting updates regularly.
