On August 14 our son and brother, Johnny Bash suffered a life changing C-6 spinal cord injury following a swimming accident at Lake Havasu in Arizona. He is now paralyzed from his chest down. Following emergency surgery and time in the hospital Johnny was medically transported to Casa Colina Rehab Center in Pomona where he received intensive inpatient therapy until December when he finally got to go home!!!
Johnny is leading the way with an amazing attitude, determination and strength while trying to figure out what he can do with this new stubborn body. His arms and wrists are improving daily but still has little use of hands. His days are long but he remains determined to make as much recovery as possible. In spite of the many struggles he faces, Johnny is looking forward to returning to work and living a productive and full life.
As you can imagine, there are many expenses that Johnny will now incur that are not covered by his insurance and must be paid out of pocket. First year alone, we anticipate out of pocket expenses to be over $200,000. Johnny will require full time care, additional intensive rehab therapy, adaptive equipment and so much more. This puts us up against a challenge we cannot meet alone and need your support.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Johnny’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southwest Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for injury-related expenses only.
Johnny is injured, but his spirit, dreams, and potential are alive and well. Please share his story and journey so far with your friends and families.
On behalf of Johnny and our family, thank you for your generosity, kindness, support and prayers.

Johnny was so happy to be home to celebrate Christmas with his family and friends; his smile says it all. He is positive and doing everything he can to fight the new normal. As we seek a full-time caregiver we find the cost increasing. Its not to late to donate and receive the end of the year tax deduction.
Thank you for all of your support.
Dear Friend and Supporters,
Johnny Bash is now home; so whats next? Your prayers, volunteerism, and financial support is greatly needed as he will need around the clock care. What will that entail? Home health care, physical therapy, healthy meals, home modifications, medical supplies, doctor visits, and much much more.
To those who continue to support Johnny mentally, physically, financially or all of the above; THANK YOU AND KEEP IT COMING! The road ahead is long and Johnny is encouraged by all of your phone calls, letters, and donations.
For the past 3 months Johnny has been completing 5 hours of physical therapy every day with the drive and determination to regain mobility. Please continue to support his efforts financially and prayerfully.

Hi Johnny,
I know your story through Tim, who I have known for 20+ years. My heart broke for you and your family when you hurt yourself and it aches each time I get an update from Tim on FB. I don't know you personally but what I do know is that you're an amazing man with a strong will to forge ahead and inspire all of us to be strong and resilient. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and may 2016 be a year of blessings for you all.

Hello to the Bash Family! I don't know you personally Johnny but I know your father. Several years ago we met on a dating site. True (and funny) story. Although we were not a romantic match we did become fast friends even if he is a Steelers fan. I forgive him. I will share with you in many of our conversations he spoke so lovingly and highly of all his children. You are truly blessed to have such an amazing family. The road you travel has changed but it's still the road and there is purpose and meaning and more in front of you than behind you. Your challenges are big but not bigger than God. I believe in prayer and planting good seed in good ground and I fully expect a good harvest. God's Speed! - Elena
