Just two days later, Garrett’s cardiologist told him the miraculous news that a “beautiful heart” was available for transplant. By the next morning, Garrett was blessed with the gift of life through a successful heart transplant. He is slowly but surely getting stronger each and every day, and on his way back to good health. While Garrett recovers, he desperately needs our help as his medical bills are mounting and the cost of his transplant is monumental and financially draining.
Garrett is a 2002 graduate from Owosso High School. He then danced professionally for several years for Royal Caribbean and later for Spirit Productions in Atlantic City. Though he loved dancing, his true passion is directing and choreographing — his dream was always to become a professional director at his hometown theater. That dream came true a year and half ago when he was hired as artistic director, but his sudden heart condition threatened to end his dream.
While Garrett recovers from his surgery, he is facing very high out-of-pocket medical expenses related to his transplant. Co-pays and deductibles, and medical bills from a lengthy hospital stay this past July (prior to acquiring insurance), are much more than Garrett can handle on his own. He also has caregiver and lab fees, follow-up appointments and procedures, and costly post-transplant anti-rejection medications that Garrett relies on for the rest of his life! Garrett desperately needs your help in paying his medical bills and out-of-pocket transplant-related expenses. Please consider a contribution.
Garrett has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive in part because HelpHOPELive assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button. For more information, please contact HelpHOPELive at 800.642.8399.
With your help, we can get Garrett back on the stage where he belongs, inspiring actors and dancers to put their heart and soul into every performance. On behalf of Garrett and his entire family (and theater family), we thank you for your generosity and support!
