GREAT NEWS! Mark received the gift of life – a new liver – on November 3, 2015 from his nephew, Tim. Thankfully, they are both doing well and we are so grateful for this life-saving gift. Keep checking back for updates.

As many of you know, Mark was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Choliangitis, a life-threatening liver disease, in the summer of 2003. Over the last decade, the disease has slowly progressed and we realized a liver transplant would become a necessity at some point in the future. Now, the time has come where Mark can no longer survive without a life-saving transplant.

We are overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of support. Thank you from the entire Maeda family. We are looking toward the beginning of November for the transplant date and will keep you updated as we know more. Right now we are making plans to move our family to Baltimore, Maryland where Mark and Tim will be cared for by Johns Hopkins Hospital. Please keep us all in your prayers but especially Mark and Tim as they face this surgery.
