Thank you for your support!
Thank you to everyone that prayed for Travis, donated, and shared his page. September 16th marked the 1 year anniversary of his kidney transplant! This past year has been full of firsts for him. He got to take an actual bath, swim in the pool, and get in the water at the beach. He wasn't able to do these things before the transplant because of his dialysis tube. He's also started to explore foods which he wasn't willing to do before. He's still learning how to eat solid foods, but he will eat almost anything once you purée it. His favorites are chili, pot roast, and strawberries with blueberries.
Travis has an amazing kidney team that is keeping a close eye on his new kidney. He is having some complications with it, but his team has been closely monitoring it so nothing happens to it. He has had a few "small" surgeries to give us a way to resolve the issue, but this did not work out. He will have a bigger surgery that is more involved, and this should give us the ability prevent damage to the kidney. While we are very sad he has to have this done, we feel very blessed that there is something else they can do for him. We are awaiting the date for this because he had to have surgery this past Monday to remove tonsils and adenoids that were wreaking havoc on his sleep and making his nose run all the time.
This little boy is a fighter and we are thankful for the time we have together as a family everyday. He has been through so much yet he remains a happy and silly boy.
Your love and support means so much to us. Thank you for helping him
