Dear Friends, Family and Community,

In 2001, my mother, Kathleen “Kay” Harvard was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. She is now in end stage liver failure and her doctors at Allegheny General Hospital have told us that her only option is a life-saving liver transplant. She is determined and has the strength to preserve thru this latest obstacle in her life.

Mom is the loving wife of Howard, wonderful mother to four, and good friend to many. Sadly, due to her poor health she is no longer able to do so much of what we all take for granted. An incredibly energetic woman who was always “on the go” she now experiences many episodes of confusion, disorientation, and personality changes due to the buildup of toxins in her liver. Even on a very restricted diet, every day is a struggle.
