Patrick Hamilton is very ill and desperately needs your help! This past December, Patrick was diagnosed with a severe and progressive kidney disorder, called polycystic-kidney disease or PKD. PKD runs in Patrick’s family, and his mother eventually passed away from complications of the disease. Prior to this past December, Patrick seemed fine. However, he unfortunately suffered a stroke and his doctors discovered he was already in the advanced stages of kidney failure or end-stage-renal disease. Patrick was told by his team of physicians that in order to survive, he must now undergo a lifesaving kidney transplant. Without a transplant, Patrick will continue to grow sicker each day, and he won’t survive much longer.

Patrick is the father to three wonderful children and three adorable grandchildren. His family is very supportive and committed to seeing him through his upcoming transplant surgery. Patrick is known to be one of the most caring and giving people you will ever meet. He has spent over twenty years working very hard as a truck driver to support his family. He would give the shirt off his back and his last dollar to anyone and everyone in need. Some days, he tries hard to cover up his illness, because he doesn’t want to be a “burden” or have people feel sorry for him. Despite his own health struggles, Patrick still tries to help others as best he can. He doesn’t want to be the person who needs help; however, during this difficult time he must learn to accept the help from others, as more than ever he wants to overcome his illness and get back to his old self.

A week ago, Patrick suffered from another heart attack. His health is going downhill, fast. As many know, with bad health comes depression. Patrick is suffering in many ways that not everyone knows. But he has realized that he has to fight for this beautiful life of his. He is committed to surviving. He went from absolutely refusing to go to the hospital throughout his life - to now he knows they are there to help him. I am proud of the fighter he is! He is one strong man!

Thank you to everyone that has donated! Especially to two of his doctors. It means the world!
