My son-in-law Jerry Evans is a 55 year old man who is struggling with the end stages of a life-threatening disease known as Progressive Massive Fibrosis, along with COPD. His condition had worsened recently and doctors told him that a double lung transplant would be his only hope of survival. Thankfully, on September 22, Jerry received the Gift of Life – a new set of lungs! Jerry is one of the kindest people you will ever meet—he has a heart of gold and is always eager to help and do for others. Now, it’s our turn to support Jerry as he begins the long recovery process.
You may know Jerry from various coal companies where he worked as an underground minor for 28 years, or you may know him from visiting your local church where he and his wife Jamee minister in music every Sunday. Jerry is very much looking forward to his life post-transplant when he can regain the quality of life he once had.
Transplants are life-saving, but financially draining. Even with insurance, Jerry is facing very high out-of-pocket expenses, including mandatory relocation for three months near Vanderbilt University Hospital. To help off-set these expenses, a fundraising campaign in Jerry’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.

Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity. Please know your contribution is truly appreciated. We thank you in advance for your kind consideration. May God bless you!
