Steve is 63 years old and has two children, four step children, and eight grandchildren. He has been a hard worker his entire life and retired from Schwan’s last year. Steve has so many family members who love and depend on him for his kindness, generosity, storytelling and good advice. He and his wife Cindi hope to watch their grandchildren grow up together and are committed to getting through his transplant.
Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Steve is facing very high expenses including relocation for at least six months to be closer to Vanderbilt Medical Center, several pre and post-transplant medications, co-pays, lab fees, and more.
To help with the financial burden of Steve’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Bone Marrow Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity.
Gratefully,
Jade Gordy, Steve’s step daughter
