The end of the year is quickly approaching and along with that brings the excitement of the 3rd anniversary of Lauren’s double lung transplant. Christmas has always held a special place in my heart and with the miracle of life given to Lauren on Christmas Eve 2015, Christmas brings hope and a new beginning.

Allow me to update you on this past year! Lauren continues on her journey to live life to the fullest – so appreciative of the life-changing transplant she received December 24, 2015. Her days are full of being a wife, mother, and business owner. On top of all this Lauren and her husband Tyler run a nonprofit foundation to help other CF patients and families with health care costs in honor of all the support they continue to receive. The second anniversary of becoming owners of Green Bay Floral is approaching as well in January and Lauren and Tyler’s daughter Lily is now in 6th grade (11yrs old) and keeps them very busy. Lily very much enjoys better health for her mama!

Lauren & Tyler’s interview with HelpHopeLive:

September 27, 2016

From Lauren & Tyler, 9-14-16:

BIG day yesterday for #TeamArkens. Lauren had her transplant team follow up. Everything is going great! Lauren gained weight, her PFTs jumped 5 points, sounded great, x-ray looked great, and looks great! No changes to anything. Got bumped to “the 4 month plan” so I don’t see the team again until January!

My 9 month bronchoscopy will be Thursday September 29… Hard to believe we are closing in on 1 year.

The other excitement from the day: Lauren got her feeding tube out that was placed 5 years ago!! This was a big deal to have it removed. Another huge milestone.
