You may know Carl from his beloved church, Diamond Hills Baptist where he is a deacon, sang in the choir and runs sound for all church events. Or, you may know him from United Telephone or American Health Network where Carl worked as a Senior Systems Engineer for 10 years. Or, perhaps you met him through his wife, Kathy Crowe or his kids Benjamin and Jennifer Crowe.
After many years of helping others Carl is now the one who needs our help. The medical bills are mounting fast and Carl already owes $15,000 for testing alone. The lung transplant and follow-up medications and treatments are very expensive. The lung transplant will cost $11,000 above insurance.
Even with Medicare and Advantage coverage, there are co-pays and deductibles, medications, clinic visits and hotel costs for the required stay near the hospital after the transplant that could top $20,000. There will also be lifetime expenses for the costly anti-rejection medications.
To help with the financial burden of Carl’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Great Lakes Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
If we all work together we can make Carl’s prospects for the future much brighter. Carl’s greatest joy is looking forward to spending time with his family and church.
With sincere gratitude,
Jennifer Crowe, Carl’s daughter

I wish you the best in everything, but shouldn't you also be receiving Veterans Benefits to help with expenses. You served our country and you deserve it
