At just 61 years old, I am suffering from complete renal failure. My kidneys have all but stopped functioning and I am on dialysis, which is doing the work of filtering my blood—something my kidneys can no longer do. Dialysis is a long and very draining process and I cannot imagine doing this the rest of my life. At this point, my only option for a long and healthy life is a kidney transplant.
I would very much like to live a halfway normal life again, free from this debilitating disease. I live for my children and grandchildren and I would love nothing more than to watch them grow up. My son and daughter are wonderful to me and my husband and I will soon be celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary. A life-saving transplant will allow me to regain and cherish life with my family.
Transplants are life-saving, but they are also very expensive. In order to be listed for transplant, I need to raise at least $5,000 to cover the expenses that my insurance will not. I will be responsible for several out-of-pocket costs, including co-pays, deductibles, travel to and from OU Medical Center, and the costly anti-rejection medications I will have to take for the rest of my life.
To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in my honor has been established with HelpHOPELive. To make a tax-deductible donation, click Donate Now.
Thank you for your generosity. I could not make it some days if not for all the prayers and support.
Sincerely,
Gloria Eytchison
We love you. Get better soon!! Xoxox
