Shaun is a resilient, strong and courageous young man who single handedly supports his two young children. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, and has asked for very little during his life. Shaun is a full-time widowed father, and in the space of week, Shaun lost his grandmother and mother; sadly his children’s mother also left this earth too soon. Shaun does not want his children to lose him too, and will do anything to be there to watch them grow up! But Shaun cannot do it alone.
A bone marrow transplant will prove lifesaving for Shaun, but this type of treatment is very expensive. Shaun is facing very high out-of-pocket medical expenses, and is presently out of work and on limited disability income. He undergoes extensive medical treatments and testing, and will soon be required to stay closer to the University of North Carolina for an extended period of time after his transplant. He is now facing co-pays and deductibles, medical bills, parking fees, doctor visits, and medication expenses that are quickly adding up. Shaun is also trying to make ends meet with his limited disability income and support his children and their needs; his living and medical expenses are much more than he can handle on his own, and Shaun needs your financial help!
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Shaun’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Bone Marrow Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Your contribution is greatly appreciated. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, please click on the yellow DONATE NOW BUTTON. For more information, please contact HelpHOPELive at 800.642.8399.
Thank you ahead of time for your thoughts, prayers and generosity during this time in need for Shaun and his family. Any donation, no matter how big or how small, is truly a blessing!
SHAUN IS READY FOR HIS BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT!
Shaun continues to undergo medical testing and procedures to get ready for his bone marrow transplant. He is having a catheter placed as early as next week (February 16th), which will become his lifeline to receive medications and Neupogen, a medication that stimulates the growth of white blood cells in his body. Once Shaun begins his rigorous treatment regimen, he will desperately need your financial help more than ever! Please consider a financial contribution to this brave and grateful young family man. He is getting ready to face the biggest challenge of his life, and is a true hero to his young children and community. Please reach out and help Shaun with his fight for life!
