We can’t wait to present a Help Hope Live-themed customized Freedom Concepts adaptive bike to Brynlee “Bryn” Bonilla at the 2026 Abilities Expo Los Angeles, taking place March 27-29, 2026.
Four-year-old Bryn is living with multiple diagnoses including quadriplegic cerebral palsy, a brain injury, epilepsy, hearing loss, and legal blindness.
In 2022, Bryn experienced bacterial meningitis. “Things changed quickly,” her family shared. “She experienced a cardiac arrest and a traumatic brain injury. We almost lost her.”
Bryn is non-verbal with limited motor skills. Her family says, “With assistance, she is very active. She is busy from the moment she wakes up until she goes to bed!”
Bryn stands with device assistance, stretches, walks, rolls, bounces, enjoys tummy time, and works on therapies both at home and in rehabilitation environments.
Once she started using a bike at therapy, “The joy that came to her face was so precious. I’ll never forget it.”
An adaptive bike allows Bryn to enjoy the movements she can’t accomplish under her own power. The impact is both immediate and long-term: as her family explained, using a therapeutic bike means “relaxing her muscles so she can do all her therapies.”
Bryn will be able to access more movement, more time outdoors, and “so much joy and excitement to play with her sisters on bike rides to the park.” Mom says they visit the park daily in addition to trips to the beach.
“We’re excited for Brynlee to be with us, enjoying what we all love.”
Bryn’s family learned about our adaptive bike program through Freedom Concepts.
The adaptive bike giveaway during the 2026 Abilities Expo Los Angeles will take place just a month before her fifth birthday.
Together, we’ve already brought more joy and motion into the lives of dozens of kids and young adults. Read their stories and make a donation to help us live up to a big promise: Every Child Deserves a Bike.
