An Adaptive Bike for Jeanney

We’re excited to gift a Help Hope Live-themed customized Freedom Concepts adaptive bike to Jeanney Lopez Zamudio at the 2026 Abilities Expo New York Metro, taking place May 1-3, 2026.

6-year-old Jeanney Lopez Zamudio at home.

Jeanney’s family knew from before her birth that something was wrong with her kidneys. Born at 31 weeks, Jeanney experienced 2 strokes as an infant and challenges with her vision, mobility, and ability to eat and speak. She was also recently diagnosed with autism.

Now 6 years old, Jeanney is more active than ever. She can walk, use her home stairs with the help of an adult, dance, sing, and play, alone and with her 11-year-old brother.

“As a family, we always try to provide the things she needs,” mom explained. They located some bikes that Jeanney could use, but she outgrew them. The bike she has access to today can’t take her far – she gets too tired using it with her mobility challenges.

Jeanney’s family lives within 2 blocks of the beach with a long area available for bike riding in addition to their driveway and backyard.

Jeanney’s school referred their family to Help Hope Live, and we’re delighted to make riding a bike a joy in her life again as we present Jeanney and family with a bike during the 2026 Abilities Expo New York Metro.

Together, we’ve already brought more joy and motion into the lives of dozens of local kids and young adults. Read their stories and make a donation to help us live up to a big promise: Every Child Deserves a Bike.
