Fundraiser for 9-year-old living with rare disease

Dezzirae Woods is living with giant axonal neuropathy (GAN). Her family is determined to help secure the items Dezzirae may need to be more comfortable and mobile, including a walk-in shower and an accessible van. They are fundraising with Help Hope Live.

Rachel and Dezzirae were interviewed by Sophie Heinemann of KELO about how their Sioux Falls community can help bring hope within reach.

As our Executive Director Kelly L Green explained:

“Nobody likes to ask for help and especially in a time of need. And it’s really hard. But the one thing that we have learned over the 37 years is that people really do want to help. They just need to be asked.”
