Joselyn Henry
“Before Josie was born, the Henrys were not aware of accessibility issues.”
8-year-old Joselyn has been living with a rare illness diagnosis since she was four months old. Unable to speak or walk without assistance, Joselyn has endured years of medical challenges. She participates in occupational therapy, aqua therapy, and hippotherapy and attends elementary school.
Today, her family is fundraising with Help Hope Live for an essential: an accessible van that they can continue to use as Joselyn grows.
“Do you get better jobs for yourself or take care of somebody and get assistance? It’s a struggle we didn’t realize existed for a lot of people with disabilities.”
They are nearly halfway to their first $60,000 fundraising goal.
While Joselyn’s family initially felt a sense of grief and loss as they grappled with the changes to their life and their daughter’s life post-diagnosis, today, they say:
“Our world was enlarging, rather than getting reduced. We are trying to discover a new way of life,”
