Drive-Through BBQ Pickup for a Cause in Franklinton and Creedmoor
franklinton and creedmoor, N.C.—On Friday, April 8, enjoy delicious BBQ and sides for a cause at two locations: Lion’s Club (205 S Chavis Street in Franklinton) and Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church (1624 NC-56 in Creedmoor). Just $15 per plate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. shows your support for a great cause: Antonio Lawrence, a Wake Forest husband who urgently needs a kidney transplant to survive.
Pick up your plate with a drive-through option at either location. $15 per plate includes ½ BBQ chicken, green beans, boiled potatoes, a roll, and dessert. Local delivery is available for five plates or more. Credit and debit cards will be accepted on location.

All funds raised benefit the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Antonio Lawrence. Antonio has always been active, productive, and positive, working full-time while serving as a high school assistant basketball coach. Antonio was born and raised in Franklinton and now resides in Wake Forest. He works for IBM as a product engineer—before that, he was the computer lab manager for the Franklin County Schools system.
In 2017, Antonio was suddenly diagnosed with late-stage kidney disease. He immediately began dialysis for four hours per day, four days per week.
While dialysis keeps him alive, it greatly reduces his quality of life and leaves him with low energy and regular physical discomfort, diminishing his ability to participate and engage with him community. A kidney transplant will change that, giving Antonio a new chance at a healthier life.
To get there, he needs the community’s help. Insurance does not cover all the costs associated with a kidney transplant, leaving his family on the hook for countless out-of-pocket costs, including over $5,000 per month for the anti-rejection medications that Antonio will need to keep a new kidney healthy post-transplant.
