“There was not a dry eye when Favio was presented with his very own bike.”
Favio is a 12-year-old living with Lowe Syndrome, which impacts his vision, kidneys, and brain health.
Like any other 12-year-old, Favio loves to stay active:
“He loves to bowl, race people in his wheelchair, and dance to his favorite music.”
He also loves to enjoy the outdoors. For many kids like Favio living with disabilities, outdoor access can be greatly enhanced with a key piece of equipment: an adaptive bike.
“A bike will truly impact Favio’s life—he will be more active, be outdoors more, and get more independence.”
These bikes can be life-changing, but they are rarely affordable for families without financial help.
That’s why we were grateful to partner with the Esther and Pedro Rosenblatt Foundation to gift an adaptive bike to Favio and his family at Abilities Expo Phoenix this month.
The foundation awards grants to nonprofit and non-governmental organizations that enhance everyday life for children with disabilities and their families.
