Support Fundraising Efforts in Honor of 6-Year-Old Adrian Diaz
WESTFIELD, Mass.—On Sunday, October 17, celebrate the season at the Adrian’s 5K Run, Walk & Roll Halloween Extravaganza event at Stanley Park (400 Western Avenue, Gate 1 Entrance, Westfield, MA 01085). Enjoy a 5K race starting at 10:30 a.m. featuring trick-or-treat stations plus a post-race get-together with music and snacks, raffles, and more for a good cause. Halloween attire and costumes encouraged—all ages welcome! Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of six-year-old Adrian Diaz, a Ludlow resident living with spinal muscular atrophy.

5K registration is between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on October 17. Race begins at 10:30 a.m. for runners; walkers and rollers can begin right after the runners depart. The walk course is fully accessible. Rain or shine! After the 5K, enjoy music, snacks, and an epic sports-themed raffle with a little help from Adrian’s grandfather, Scott Daniels—a former NHL player for the Whalers, Flyers, Devils, and Springfield Indians.

Proceeds will benefit a special cause: a fundraising campaign with the national nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Adrian Diaz, a six-year-old living with a rare form of muscular dystrophy called spinal muscular atrophy. Adrian is fighting for his mobility and his health, including by attending weekly therapy sessions, treatments, and appointments in Boston—a 1.5-hour drive each way for his family.
The cost of Adrian’s treatments and therapies are not fully covered by insurance. The Diaz family pays $250 per week out-of-pocket for physical therapy and occupational therapy alone, and the high cost limits their ability to give Adrian the best care and equipment possible to support his long-term mobility and health needs. That’s why they turned to a trusted nonprofit for fundraising assistance.
