GLEN BURNIE, Md.—The community of 6-year-old Ari Jarrett is rallying to help fund two life-changing sources of hope: a service dog and a sports-ready wheelchair. Born with multiple disabilities, Ari will have a brighter and more active future ahead with help from an August 10 trivia night fundraiser and an online fundraising campaign with the trusted national nonprofit Help Hope Live.
August 10 Trivia Fundraiser

Ari’s Story
6-year-old Ari Jarrett was born prematurely and lives with multiple disabilities and chronic lung disease. He relies on a feeding tube and wheelchair. Despite the challenges of his diagnosis, Ari is active and independent—he is a violinist and an athlete who participates in wheelchair basketball, track, swimming, and other adaptive sports.
Ari’s health and happiness depends on multiple costs not fully covered by insurance. His family is currently fundraising with the trusted national nonprofit Help Hope Live for two needs: a service dog and a sports-ready wheelchair.
A service dog can provide critical day-to-day support for Ari, fetching dropped items, helping with his balance, supporting his public school attendance, and serving as a constant companion for Ari’s frequent hospital stays: Ari has already spent more than one year in the hospital over his lifetime.
Ari’s current wheelchair is too large for him, preventing him from being able to fully and safely participate in the athletic activities he loves. A sports wheelchair will be a life-changing upgrade, enabling Ari to participate diverse adaptive sports like baseball, tennis, and basketball.

Proceeds from the August 10 trivia fundraiser and online auction will go to Help Hope Live in Ari’s honor to help bring the service dog and wheelchair within reach.
Since May, the community has raised over $4,300 towards their goal.
“We want to support Ari in his wish to live as independently as possible,” explained mom Brianna Jarrett. “We thank you so much for partnering with us to make this happen for our son.”
Donations to Help Hope Live are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and all funds raised will be managed by the nonprofit to cover verified medical and related expenses. Help Hope Live verifies medical and financial need for every patient.
