Voices of Hope: Meet Dina

Dina Lazo Castro, 60 years young, went completely deaf in February 2019. Doctors diagnosed her with sudden hearing loss.

To hear again, Dina needs a cochlear implant. The implant and operation will cost $50,000 or more, not including any out-of-pocket costs she incurs during recovery and healing. Her insurance considers this life-altering procedure to be “cosmetic” for adults and will not cover it.

“She is my hero,” wrote her daughter on her Campaign Page. “She was there when I had cancer and took care of me. Now it is my turn to help her get her hearing back.”
