TOLEDO COMES TOGETHER FOR A CAUSE AT 4th ANNUAL FINNFEST FUNDRAISER
Help Offset Jason Finn’s Spinal Cord Injury Medical Costs
TOLEDO, Ohio—On Thursday, September 26, Toledo will come together for a one-of-a-kind annual fun-draiser: the 4th Annual FinnFest from 6 to 10 p.m. at Handmade Toledo (1717 Adams Street). Enjoy live music from Jason Quick, Patron of the Earth, and Sean LaPan & R.O.B., a wide selection of delicious food donated by local vendors, a cash bar with wine and specialty cocktails, raffles, and silent/live auctions. All funds raised will help Toledo’s Jason Finn with ongoing expenses related to a devastating spinal cord injury.
Jason is fundraising with the nonprofit Help Hope Live following a boogie-boarding accident just before his 47th birthday. He is paralyzed from the chest down with a C5 fracture and spinal cord injury. The Toledo community has been a central source of support for Jason, enabling him to continue to receive daily care that is not covered by insurance.
Since his injury, Jason has been actively involved with SCI Connect, a local support group started by Jason and some friends with spinal cord injuries. That group, in partnership with Unite 2 Fight Paralysis, was instrumental in the passage of a $3 million bill for spinal cord injury research funding in Ohio. The group reminds its members and the greater community that life rolls on. They shine a light for the community and each other, illuminating what’s possible and where changes to promote access and inclusivity can be made to enhance quality of life for people with disabilities, particularly people living with paralysis.
Register for the 4th Annual FinnFest at https://events.helphopelive.org/event/5055/signup/ for just $50 per person. Sponsorships are still available! All funds raised will be collected by the nonprofit Help Hope Live via the Great Lakes Catastrophic Injury Fund to offset medical and related expenses only. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Can’t attend? Show your support or make a donation at any time at https://helphopelive.org/campaign/10658/ or by calling 800.642.8399.
Help Hope Live is a national nonprofit that specializes in engaging communities in fundraising campaigns for people who need a transplant or are affected by a catastrophic injury or illness. Since 1983, campaigns organized by Help Hope Live have raised over $135 million to pay patient expenses.
