Kaylie Hammond

“We raised just over $10,200 at the fundraiser.”

We are grateful to Tallis Johnson and the team at KBSI FOX23 for their in-depth conversation with the family of Kaylie Hammond, a 10-year-old living with rare diagnoses.

Mom Tammy shared with us that thanks to community support and the extra boost from FOX coverage, the fundraiser at Kaylie’s elementary school in July 2026 was a big success, raising more than $10,000 for Help Hope Live in her honor.

We love how the reporting team highlighted the unique considerations a rare family like Kaylie’s need to accommodate for safe transportation.

Kaylie’s specialist are 6 hours away. As the family transports medical supplies, food, and more, they have to leave Kaylie’s stroller packed in between other items in their current vehicle.

As a result, they have no flexibility or freedom on the road, and all of their specialist medical visits depend on a single vehicle’s limited capabilities.

“It would give us more freedom and we’d be able to go places versus just sitting in the car because we can’t get her stroller out.”

Securing safe transportation is about more than mobility for Kaylie’s family. Their non-verbal and non-mobile daughter still has a full life and personality, and with more time spent in the community, they can “help others see Kaylie for who she is.”

Interviewing our Executive Director, Kelly L. Green, FOX went the extra mile in highlighting why working with Help Hope Live is important: “Unlike many online fundraising platforms, donations made through Help Hope Live do not go directly to the Hammond family.”

Because the funds are held by Help Hope Live and distributed for verified medical costs and related expenses, donors receive transparency, accountability, and tax-deductible giving pathways while Kaylie’s family can focus on what matters.

“She’s just sweet and sassy. She’s got a big personality, and I just think she deserves the best.”
