APRIL 27 ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BREAKFAST BUFFET TO HELP MOM IN NEED
Montoursville’s Jennifer Kershner Needs a Kidney/Pancreas Transplant
LOCK HAVEN, Pa.—On Saturday, April 27 from 7 to 11 a.m., chow down on an all-you-can-eat buffet full of breakfast favorites at Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Club House (84 Harley Drive, Lock Haven, PA). The cost of your delicious breakfast will support a good cause: helping Jennifer Kershner, a Montoursville mom who needs a lifesaving kidney/pancreas transplant and can’t cover the associated costs on her own.
Jennifer Kershner is described by her family as a “vibrant 47-year-old” wife and mother who has been fighting end-stage renal disease for more than 7 years. She grew up in Montoursville, graduated from Montoursville Area High School in 1989, and is a familiar face at Weis Markets, where she worked for over a decade before her health deteriorated. “She would like to watch her youngest daughter graduate high school, then college,” explain loved ones, “and see her only grandchild grow up!” A transplant is Jennifer’s only hope for a healthy future.
According to Milliman, billed charges associated with a kidney/pancreas transplant can exceed $618,000. To help with the huge out-of-pocket cost of pre- and post-transplant care, Jennifer is fundraising with the national nonprofit Help Hope Live at helphopelive.org. Proceeds from the breakfast buffet on April 27 will be donated to Help Hope Live in honor of Jennifer Kershner.
Enjoy the event for just $10 for adults and $6 for children aged 6 to 12. Kids 5 and under eat free! Contact Duke Kershner with questions at [email protected]. Can’t make it? Donate at any time at helphopelive.org or by calling 800.642.8399. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and all funds raised will be used to offset medical costs via Help Hope Live’s Mid-Atlantic Transplant Fund. You can also leave a message of support for Jennifer and her family on the Guestbook at helphopelive.org.
Help Hope Live is a national nonprofit that specializes in engaging communities in fundraising campaigns for people who need a transplant or are affected by a catastrophic injury or illness. Since 1983, campaigns organized by Help Hope Live have raised over $135 million to pay patient expenses. ###
