“I know that I am lucky to have seen my 40s, but I want more time.”
41-year-old Elizabeth Burrus Barnett has been living in the hospital for more than 40 days while she waits for a life-saving heart and liver transplant.
Community support is a critical lifeline to Elizabeth, her husband, and her two children. Says her mother:
“People in this community have just been wonderful.”
In addition to hundreds of cards, gifts, and care packages, donations are pouring in to assist with transplant-related expenses.
