I am writing on behalf of my daughter Petra Apps. As many of you already know she was in a catastrophic motorcycle accident on October 20, 2012 resulting in a C3-C4 spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. Petra is now a quadriplegic and requires the use of a power wheelchair for mobility. This accident has been a life-changing event for her and her entire family. Despite the fact that this accident took the life of her fiance; she remains strong in her determination to get back to her home of 20 years and to her children and start to rebuild a new life. She is currently living at the Broomfield Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and requires care 24-hours-a-day.

Prior to Petra’s accident she had a very full and active life. Petra is a single mother of three children, Christopher, Katrina and William. She would love to go home and continue to raise her youngest child, William who is 13-years-old. Petra loved to travel with her children and chose a job as a truck driver which allowed her to be out in the world enjoying the sights. Her other hobbies included skiing, jet skiing and working in her yard.
