It is with great sadness we report that Emmett George passed away on August 12, 2025. Family and friends have been working with Help Hope Live to raise money to help finance uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
In loving memory of Emmett, Help Hope Live will continue to accept charitable donations to help defray uninsured costs that were incurred. I NEED YOUR HELP!
My name is Emmett George, I am the proud husband of Marva, who is a Special Education teacher with District 220. She teaches at Roslyn elementary school in Barrington.
We have been Blessed with three wonderful children: Jamoele, Caitlin and Malcolm Isaiah.
I am an active member of the Village Church of Barrington where Dr. David Jones is our Pastor.
I enjoy reading books, especially comic and science fiction. I really enjoy traveling to scenic and cultural locations. I love taking long walks in national parks, beaches and countryside.
I worked in cloud computing for Allstate Insurance Corporation for three years. Unfortunately, on Oct 7th Allstate laid off over 3000 employees due to the globally Covid-19 pandemic. I have Medicare part A and B which I am qualified for due to renal failure. I also have secondary insurance for my family through 2021.
I was a long-time type 1 diabetic, now suffering from end-stage renal failure. I have been on dialysis at the ARA south Barrington center for four years. If the transplant is successful, I will no longer be insulin dependent or need to have dialysis three times a week. I would also be able to return to work and provide for my family in a much improved capacity. This life- altering procedure would give me more energy and greatly improve my activity. It would also remove the severe side effects of dialysis allowing my body to cleanse itself.
I am prayerfully trying to raise $25K-40K to cover my medical, recovery, and various expenses .
My social worker with the UWM suggested the non-for- profit Help Hope Live and I have set-up a fundraising campaign there also. My family and friends are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in my honor to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
We chose to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
