My name is Christine and some years back I was diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease in which my body’s anti-bodies mistakenly attack the healthy tissue in the body which also adversely affects various organs. Unfortunately, my lupus affected my kidneys and Heart, causing me to have End-Stage Renal Failure and Heart Failure. I have been told that my only chance at a healthy life is to have a kidney transplant. To maintain normal kidney function, I currently perform dialysis daily.

I’m married to an amazing man, Maxwell, who met me at my worst, and helped bring back hope into my life. I know the true meaning of sacrifice and love because of him. Some of the activities I enjoy doing include hanging out with friends, cooking, dancing, longboarding and pretty much anything that allows me to be outdoors. I thoroughly enjoy my life and am genuinely grateful and happy! As you can imagine, I eagerly await the call to transplant and look forward to again leading a normal life.
