It is with great sadness we report that Anne Buckley passed away on April 8, 2024. Family and friends have been working with Help Hope Live to raise money to help finance uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
In loving memory of Anne, Help Hope Live will continue to accept charitable donations to help defray uninsured costs that were incurred. Anne had chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because the nonprofit organization provides both tax-deductibility to the full extent allowed by law and fiscal accountability to contributors. Supporters can be sure that funds contributed will be used only to pay or reimburse medically related expenses.
To make a kind contribution to Anne’s memorial fundraising campaign, select the “Give” button on this page or call 800.642.8399.
For more information, please contact Help Hope Live at 800.642.8399.
In loving care and remembrance, thank you for your support.

ANNE NEEDS OUR HELP
Regardless of the setting, whether in hard-hat and pearls or with a glue-gun and ribbon, Anne Buckley has a plan. If you want something done thoughtfully, efficiently and cost-effectively, you go to Anne. She has shown up for so many of us with unfailing vibrance and humor. However, there is one thing for which Anne could not have planned and cannot do on her own. That is to fight for her life.
Anne was diagnosed with idiopathic restrictive cardiomyopathy in 2003. Cardiomyopathy is a heart disease that has caused a progressive deterioration in her health necessitating open-heart surgery in 2004 and a pacemaker defibrillator implantation in 2006. Cardiomyopathy is an inherited disease. Anne lost her mother to it long before there was the transplant technology we have today. Anne’s brother had a successful heart transplant in 2005. Now it is evident to Anne’s doctors that she must have a transplant to survive.
Even with health insurance, Anne’s doctors have estimated her post-transplant annual medical care to exceed $2,000 a month. Anne is unable to work and her medical expenses are more than her income. Fundraising is essential and is our opportunity to significantly contribute to the overall success of Anne’s outcome. Anne’s friends have established a fundraising campaign with Help Hope Live for her uninsured medical expenses. Help Hope Live is a nonprofit organization that has been providing assistance to the transplant community for the past 39 years. Please make a tax-deductible contribution by selecting the Give button on this page. Also see the sharing options under Anne’s profile picture to help spread the word about this campaign.
With love and appreciation,
Friends of Anne
Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law. This campaign is administered by the Help Hope Live, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing fundraising assistance to transplant and catastrophic injury patients. Information: 800-642-8399.
Over the summer the Advanced Heart failure team at Tufts Medical Center informed me that I require a second heart transplant and remarkably a kidney transplant too.
Another organ transplant is scary, I have a lot of fear. I also have faith that this will all work out. I believe that my job is to continue to show up and give the rest to God.
I invite you to be part of my future, I am certain that my community, my family, and my friends can come together and achieve this suggested goal of $50,000
My 50th birthday is on October 16th and The Packer Family Foundation has generously offered a limited-time matching grant of $20,000. Your gift will be matched Dollar-for-Dollar until then. Please give with twice the heart.
I sincerely thank you, Anne
This Help Hope Live fund is to help with all the expenses not covered by insurance. An assurance that I can care for the extraordinary gift of life.
Good Morning
Infectious Disease (ID) has cleared me of any infection - new or returning. Thank heavens.
Creatine Levels: (kidneys)
5/20/22 2.33
5/23/22. 2.37
5/25/22 3.91 - transported to Tufts
5/26/22. 3.60
5/27/22. 2.52
At my last hospitalization my blood thinner was changed to a new medication. With this change, it takes time to make certain that the new medication is effective and stable in my system. During this time, testing is not advised. June 13th I am scheduled to return to Boston for said testing. I was concerned that Tufts may try to keep me until June 13th. Thankfully, that is not the plan.
With the clearance from ID and improving kidney function, the doctor just came in to announce "you are free to go"
I have reached out to The State of Vermont (out of state medical care program) for a ride home, they will let me know if they have a driver by 1 PM. Any ideas welcome, date/ time is flexible.
Thank you one and all ❤️
Hello Everyone -
After a routine follow up appointment with my nephrologist (kidney) doctor yesterday, she expressed concern about my organ function. Instructed to be admitted to the University of Vermont Medical Center - labs were drawn, showing decreased function of both my heart and kidneys.
I was airlifted to Tufts Medical in Boston.
Now in Boston the transplant team is anxious to look inside the heart through a TEE (transesophageal echocardiogram), a heart biopsy and right heart catheterization.
Unfortunately, many medications have been changed over the last month, and now we must wait a certain amount of time before those medications are stable in my system and testing may commence.
I am comfortable in a sunny corner room with abundant ginger ale and Italian ice.
My car at the local (Vermont) Emergency Room is being moved back home - huge thanks to Kristy B!
Another friend has offered to watch little Ollie for a few days before he returns to NY and stays with his brother pups - at my brother Chris & Erica's home.
Everything at my home in South Burlington will be fine until my return.
Thank you everyone ❤️
We join with all loving supporters of Anne to extend our heartfelt condolences to her cherished family and friends. We wish you peace and comfort during this time of sorrow.

Hi everyone
I'm with Anne this afternoon. The only information they'll dispense is that she has a new heart and she's doing well. She looks like she just had a heart transplant!! Attendants say all is going according to plan. They are being quite diligent. I've never seen so much equipment. Lots of testing and monitoring going on.
Bro and sister are arriving soon.
