Louise Ward is in need of a kidney transplant and needs the help of the community to make it happen. Transplants are life-saving, but very expensive.
You may know Louise from Wells Fargo where she assists many families to purchase and refinance their home. Or you may know Louise by seeing her at Mount Calvary Baptist Church where she attends faithfully, assisting with the Family Ministry Plan which consists of visiting the sick and shut in.
Thirty-years ago, Louise was diagnosed with Renal Failure. Over the years the disease has progressively gotten worse. Louise is now completely dependent on dialysis, which she undergoes at home every night. Her only chance to return to good health is a kidney transplant.
After many years of helping others, Louise is now the one who needs your help. Transplantation and follow-up medications and treatments are very expensive. Even with Medicare coverage, there are co-pays, deductibles, labs, anti-rejection medications, and clinic visits that can easily exceed $25,000.
To help with the financial burden of Louise’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southwest Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
Thank you for your prayers and generosity,
Anthony Ward

Hello Everyone,
How are you doing? To update you, I am finished with therapy and back to driving now. Also, I am in school three days a week. Currently, I am on UCSF kidney list awaiting on the okay from the doctor to clear me for the kidney transplant. Per UCSF, they want me to be healthy to receive the transplant. For now, I am focusing on my studies and when its time for me to get a kidney, it will come. Again thanks for your prayers and support. Louise
asking for your prayers.
Hello Everyone,
How is everybody doing? I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their support and prayers over the last two years. We had the event Heart & Soul event and it was a success. Two years ago I said that I wanted to bring education to this community because of the need of donors. By now I feel that the information that was shared at the events started a conversation and gave some insight why the need is important. To update you, I am still in therapy and is scheduled to be evaluated by UCSF this Spring to see if i am healthy enough to receive a kidney. I am sure everything is going to work out. As of now, no future fundraiser is scheduled. Again thanks for your support and prayers. Enjoy the holidays & your family. Louise & Anthony
Hello Everyone,
Hope all is well with you and your family. Just to update you. My husband and I am doing fine. A flyer for the upcoming event has been uploaded on the website. If you plan to come to to event on Oct 29th, and have not purchase your ticket by Oct 15th, you can register online until the 28th. Looking forward to seeing you.
Hello Everyone,
Hope you and your family are well.
I just want to take a moment and update you. I received a kidney on July 24, 2014 but due to complications I had to have the kidney removed a few days later. Unfortunately, during the removal process I sustained a brain injury called encephalopathy. This injury caused me to lose my speech, memory and mobility. I am still undergoing therapy for my speech and has to maintain regular doctors visits in order to enhance the recovery process.
I am currently being evaluated by UCSF hospital in San Francisco to determine when I will be healthy enough to receive a transplant. I have been placed on the kidney list for UCSF. Due to complications during the last transplant we are focusing our efforts on identifying a potential donor to insure that we have a match to avoid complications.
On October 29, we are planning an event at the Hilton Garden located at 2200 Gateway Ct.
Fairfield, Ca. A flyer of the event will be uploaded later with additional details.
Louise's story was featured in Word & Worship Magazine in May! See Louise's Photo Albums on this page to read the article.
Greetings Everyone,

Just an update I have been placed back on the kidney list. Thanks again!!
Save the Date - April 25th - an Evening in the Islands.
Purchase your tickets early as sales are limited to150 people. See you there!
I would like to thank you for your prayers and support during my hospital stay. I have undergone in home therapy and now I am in therapy 4 days a week at North Bay and Sutter hospitals.
My family and I have agreed to combine our efforts with the hospital to procur a donor. Therefore on April 25th 2015 we have scheduled a kidney drive/fundraiser at the Community Center in Fairfield, Ca. We will provide more details later.
Thanks again for your prayers and support!
Louise is in rehab. and making progress everyday. Naturally, this is exciting for her family, friends and staff at UC Davis who've been monitoring her progress. It is premature for me to say when she will be going home but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks once again for your prayers and support.
Louise is still recovering at UC Davis Medical Center. Louise's faith and smile has proven to be contagious for all the staff that come into her presence. Louise has been a source of encouragement because she has yet to complain regardless of what she has been through over the past 40 days.
Keep the faith baby because that is all we have.
The last three weeks have been a roller coaster ride. Louise actually received a kidney on July 25 but then it had to be removed a few day later, due to complications with the kidney. After a scary few days, she is finally responding to us and beginning to recover. She is back on dialysis but we hope she'll be well enough to receive a new kidney in a few of months. If you would like to send get well cards please send them to Business Center 1652 West Texas St. #248, Fairfield, Ca. 94533. Please keep her in your prayers.

Sis Louise & Dea. Anthony; as we keep you lifted up in prayer, I wanted to share a scripture right now;
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulations produces perseverance; and perseverance, character, and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." (Romans 5: 1-5) - Amen
