It is with great sadness we report that Gerry Tune passed away on November 27, 2025.
Family and friends have worked closely with Help Hope Live to fundraise for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. They began their partnership with Help Hope Live because the nonprofit provides both tax-deductibility to the full extent allowed by law and fiscal accountability to contributors.
Her family has been humbled by the outpouring of love from their community. Please know that no additional donations in memory of Gerry are needed. But your support has made a measurable difference in their lives.

Gerry Tune needs a lifesaving kidney transplant, and she needs an “army of heroes” to help make it happen. A hero is defined as a person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his or her brave deeds and noble qualities. This letter is asking that you become a hero by generously reaching out to help Gerry fund her upcoming kidney transplant. Due to her battle with end-stage-renal-disease, if Gerry doesn’t receive a new kidney in the near future, she will be required to go on dialysis every day, and her precious time will run out very soon.
Many of you may already know Gerry as a charter member of Clay County Christian Church in Liberty, Missouri. Gerry has been involved with numerous church activities, and serving the Lord in a variety of ways. Her whole adult life, Gerry has reached out to help others with her love, dedication and guidance from the Lord — now it is time to help Gerry; our dear friend and Christian sister.
Gerry is on a kidney transplant waiting list, and she is looking for a possible kidney donor match. If you would consider this selfless and heroic act by donating one of your kidneys, a simple blood test will verify if you are a potential candidate to be a living kidney donor for Gerry. Once she finds a matching kidney donor, Gerry’s transplant will become a reality and her life will be saved! Transplants are lifesaving, but funding this life-saving procedure is a monumental task. Gerry continues to have many out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by her health insurance: co-pays and deductibles, travel and lodging fees, health insurance premiums, and many other incidental expenses are adding up to more than Gerry can handle alone. She will also be required to take costly anti-rejection medications for the rest of her life, which can cost up to $2000 per month. Gerry needs your help and wants nothing more than to wake up each morning knowing she can spend another day with her loving husband, family and the Lord.
To help with the financial burden of Gerry’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
