$40,000 Raised & Rehab in Progress: Callie Aceto

Callie was struck by a speeding car in Burlington in September 2025 and has been living with paralysis ever since. The family will not receive restitution for the injury, so instead, the community is rallying to provide support through the national nonprofit Help Hope Live.

On Saturday, July 11, gather at Carlisle County Elementary Cafeteria to enjoy dinner and fun for a great cause. Funds raised will benefit the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Kaylie Hammond, a 10-year-old student, to help her family cover the cost of a critical wheelchair accessible van.

Bowl for a Cause to Help Local Woman with Paralysis: Bariyah Gilmer

On Friday, July 17, bowl for a cause at a Bowling Spirit Night fundraiser at Stars and Strikes in Stone Mountain. Funds raised benefit the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Bariyah Gilmer, an Ellenwood 32-year-old who needs a wheelchair accessible vehicle to keep rolling to independence.
