Adaptive Bike Giveaways This Autumn

Every Child Deserves a Bike Flyers Alumni and Help Hope Live logo with photos of 3 adaptive bike recipients.

This autumn, we’re excited to share that multiple local kids living with disabilities will have the chance to receive customized adaptive bikes thanks to our Every Child Deserves a Bike partnership with the Flyers Alumni Association.

Meet some of our adaptive bike recipients for the fall below, and click here to see recaps of prior adaptive giveaways.

A Bike for Jinju

16-year-old Jinju in the hospital with an Eagles shirt.

16-year-old Jinju Park is living with cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and an intellectual disability. She relies on a wheelchair for mobility.

A traditional bike is not suitable for her mobility needs – but Jinju got the chance to test-drive a Freedom Concepts bike in her rehabilitation program:

“She can propel the bike and steer by herself. She loves it!”

16-year-old Jinju rides a three-wheel adaptive bike in therapy.

We can’t wait to see Jinju’s excitement when she receives a customized Flyers Freedom Concepts bike to use at home!

A Bike for Jesse

10-year-old Jesse Jackson is living with cerebral palsy and autism. He is very active, crawling and using a gait trainer to be as mobile as possible.

Jesse can’t ride a traditional bike, but like Jinju, he’s had the chance to use a Freedom Concepts adaptive bike in therapy:

“He loves riding the bike! It will help him so much with his legs and strength.”

We’re excited to give Jesse a bike he can use at home to improve his mobility and build on the hard work he puts in during his time in physical therapy.

A Bike for Blake

Blake Turner, a preteen with dark skin.

12-year-old Blake Turner is living with TAR syndrome. While the diagnosis impacts his mobility and physical strength, he stays very active and loves to play football and basketball.

Blake’s friends love to ride their bikes, but Blake can’t join them on a tradition bike due to the impact of his diagnosis on his body. Using an adaptive bike in therapy has been a game-changer for Blake:

“He loves riding the bike – that’s all he talks about. It boosts his self-confidence and his self-esteem.”

We’re excited and grateful to make a personal adaptive bike a reality for Blake.
