An Adaptive Bike for Max

12-year-old Maximo Peng or Max seated in his wheelchair.

This December, we look forward to gifting a customized Flyers-themed adaptive bike to 12-year-old Maximo “Max” Peng through our Every Child Deserves a Bike partnership with the Philadelphia Flyers Alumni Association.

Living with quadriplegic cerebral palsy, Max actively participates in therapy and relies on special mobility tools to stay active, including a gait trainer. He’s learning how to drive an electric wheelchair.

“Max is a very social, happy, and lovable boy. He currently has ten words in his vocabulary. His favorite color is orange.”

An adaptive bike will be a game-changer for Max. Living in a bike-friendly neighborhood, Max will be able to get fresh air, even more activity, and face-time with his community. He’ll even be able to ride indoors in his basement when the weather is too cold for outdoor play.

...Because Every Child Deserves a Bike

Every Child Deserves a Bike with the Flyers alumni.

We are so grateful to the Flyers Alumni Association for making it possible for us to bring joy, motion, and hope within reach for local kids and young adults living with life-changing disabilities.

We know adaptive bikes can be a game-changer, improving outdoor access, community connection, and regular exercise that can help improve mobility, health, and independence. However, adaptive bikes often remain financially out of reach for families without help.

Thanks to the Flyers Alumni Association, together, we can bring a vision to life: Every Child Deserves a Bike.

Together, we’ve already brought more joy and motion into the lives of dozens of local kids and young adults.

Donate to this special program, learn why this exceptional partnership with the Flyers Alumni Association began, and see the joy for yourself as you read the stories of local families who have received beautiful adaptive bikes of their own:
