Insurance policy delays Kenwood man’s life-saving transplant

Mark Alan Plummer

“It could happen to anybody.”

At 55, Mark Plummer experienced shortness of breath. Within three months, he was diagnosed with progressive and life-threatening lung disease. He began using supplemental oxygen 24/7 and pursuing a double lung transplant.

That’s when his insurance company called.

“They have a clause in their policy that they do not cover organ transplantation. I was devastated.”

Mark and his family have turned to Help Hope live to assist with the immense out-of-pocket costs associated with a life-saving transplant. Without financial help, the transplant is out-of-reach for Mark.
