Family raising funds for vehicle to accommodate son with disability

Luis Aguilar

“I just think Luis deserves to go out and be comfortable in something that was made specifically for him.”

10-year-old Luis Aguilar’s family wants the best for him as he faces mobility and health challenges living with spinal muscular atrophy. One life-changing upgrade – an accessible van – isn’t covered by insurance, leaving Luis’s family with up to $70,000 out of pocket to save up.

Luis’s power chair helps to stabilize his body and keep him upright, which is critical for his spine health. Following a spinal surgery, Luis can’t use the folding wheelchair that fits in his family’s car.

“This is not just a vehicle. It’s the chance to experience the world with more freedom, dignity, and joy.”

From attending critical doctor’s appointments to attending school, which Luis loves to do, a wheelchair van is a must for a happier and healthier future. That’s why Luis’s family turned to Help Hope Live for trusted medical fundraising.
