4 years after paralyzing wreck, Raleigh restaurateur vows: ‘This will not be my life’

A decorative newsprint graphic.

“Nearly four years ago, on Nov. 20, 2015, he was in a motorcycle crash that left him a quadriplegic. A year ago, he returned after a few years at a rehabilitation center…to stitch together the life he had planned with what his life had become.”

Active and ambitious daredevil Michael Thor entered a new world when an accident left him with a spinal cord injury. Today, he is working hard in physical therapy while slowly learning how best to manage his restaurant, Whiskey Kitchen, while living with the challenges of SCI.

“I am going to get out of this chair. That is where my positivity is focused.”
