Brittany DeSantiago

“I was relieved to find out I was a match.”
At 33 years old, our client Brittany DeSantiago is facing her third need for a transplant. This time, she has a life-saving family connection to help her pursue the gift of new life.
Brittany’s sister, Tiffany Miranda, will become her kidney donor. Already a registered organ donor, Tiffany is described by her sister as selfless, motivated, and full of hope.
Brittany was born with an exceptionally rare condition, gastroschisis, that required immediate intervention. Those interventions have continued into adulthood as Brittany has endured a multi-organ transplant before age 10 and a kidney transplant at age 17.
She turned to Help Hope Live for medical fundraising support starting in 2025. Key out-of-pocket costs that are critical to the transplant process include temporary relocation near her specialists in Miami.

Fueled by this precious gift from her sister, Brittany’s goal is to become a source of professional mental health support for other transplant patients:
“I feel like in the field of mental health, it’s important to have someone who fully understands those experiences…that’s my purpose and I need to make use of that.”
