July Is Disability Pride Month!

Celebrating Disability Pride Month with the Help Hope Live gray pledge figure logo and a flag of maroon, gold, white, teal, and light green.

July is Disability Pride Month! The month-long celebration emphasizes the importance of recognizing disability as a natural and valuable aspect of human diversity.

1 in 4 adults is living with a disability.

The Disability Pride month of July coincides with the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which was signed into law on July 26, 1990. This milestone legislation played a crucial role in advancing the rights and visibility of disabled individuals.

Each year of Disability Pride carries a unifying theme: the 2026 Disability Pride Month theme is “The World Works Better With Us,” selected by The Arc’s National Council of Self-Advocates to underscore that communities function better when people with disabilities are included, respected, and supported.
