After a bike accident left him paralyzed from the chest down, a man says van life helped him regain his independence

Our spinal cord injury client Kirk Williams was recently featured in a stunning article and photo series for Insider. Since a 2009 bike accident, Kirk has made incredible strides in independence, including participating in international travel and renovating a van for complete accessibility and self-sufficiency.

After his eye-opening international experiences, Kirk began giving back to others living with spinal cord injuries through an initiative to raise funds for wheelchair giveaways.
