We held our second annual Hope Travels 5K on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
We welcomed more than 150 runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages and ability levels to the Radnor Corporate Center to run, walk, and roll to raise over $50,000 for our nonprofit’s mission.

The Meaning in a Moment
As you look at our photos, know that all the smiles you see tell a story.
Just like the 5K race itself, our Hope Travels event can pass by in what feels like the blink of an eye as we move from preparation to excitement to race day, but Hope Travels is more than just a streak of teal on our annual calendar.
Underneath the excitement and momentum, there are strong community ties, serendipitous connections, collaborations, generosities, moments of joy even for those impacted by life-changing hardship, and a resounding respect for our nonprofit’s mission.
As Kelly L Green, our Executive Director, observed:
“If you were there—thank you for showing up with your whole heart. And if you couldn’t make it, your behind-the-scenes efforts were just as important. It all mattered.“

Our special guests included Barrett Brooks, former Eagle and host of NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Birds Huddle, and current Eagle KJ Henry, who turned to Help Hope Live to raise funds for his father’s lifesaving kidney transplant.
Barrett returned by popular demand to encourage walkers and runners as they made their way across the finish line. His infectious energy and his love for our mission gives all of us an extra boost.
KJ met with excited fans and took the time to share his Help Hope Live story with the Philadelphia Inquirer – a story that has now reached more than 110 million people.
We love getting the chance to let clients tell our story in their own words, and that’s exactly what Ambassadors Linda Jara and Liz Casperite did this year during Hope Travels.
We were also joined by local team member Ed Hoey, father of our spinal cord injury client Patrick Hoey.
From Brand Champions to Ambassadors to sponsors and beyond, every Hope Travels participant helped us to showcase the importance of our mission while uniting our local community of support.
More Than Local

Double the Fun at Our Adaptive Bike Giveaway

9-year-old twins Jadon and Anias McDonald of Collegeville received the surprise of a lifetime during Hope Travels 2025 thanks to generous support from our friends at the Esther and Pedro Rosenblatt Foundation: matching adaptive bikes uniquely created to fit their disabilities.
Anias and Jadon were born in 2015 conjoined at the cranium. They were separated in 2016 in one of the most challenging neurosurgery cases in history with the help of 40 doctors over 30 hours.
While the separation was a success, the twins have had to live with unique disabilities that impact their mobility and health. “We face their challenges daily with grace and grit,” explained mom Nicole.
Anias uses a wheelchair for mobility, and both boys experience challenges with muscle weakness and mobility. The McDonald family has been working with us for medical fundraising since mid-2024, successfully raising the funds needed to purchase an accessible van.
Based on their unique mobility needs, neither boy can ride a traditional bike. Adaptive bikes are rarely covered by insurance despite their proven benefits for health, which leaves families like the McDonalds with a $5,000 out-of-pocket price tag per bike.
