Seth Kurpiel

Seth Kurpiel is a 47-year-old husband and father of 2 young boys. In April 2025, a freak accident with a playground swing left him with a paralyzing cervical spinal cord injury and no feeling from the neck down.
This month, we received an astonishing update: as NBC New York reported, Seth is walking again.
With the average cost of life with quadriplegia topping $1.4 million in the first year alone and $240,000 each subsequent year according to the NSCIC, Seth was referred to Help Hope Live for medical fundraising by the Reeve Foundation.

Since then, the campaign in Seth’s honor has raised over $97,000.
Even before his intensive rehab began, Seth called himself both the unluckiest and luckiest guy in the world. His community, rehab team, and doctors have matched his 110% commitment with emotional, physical, and financial help.
His medical team said that the chances of Seth making this kind of recovery was in the single-digit odds.
“Whatever struggle you are facing: never give up. Let’s all be statistic movers.”
