Our second annual Hope in Action day of giving showcased the power of hope and community in action.
On May 30, 2025, we invited you and your community to participate as we covered the credit card fees for all donations made in honor of a client at helphopelive.org. Communities across the country increased their impact with $71,998 raised in a single day.
In this post, we’ll share our tips for keeping your community engaged and your fundraising momentum moving forward after Hope in Action.
Keep in mind that the global day of giving GivingTuesday will return on December 2, 2025.

Capture Your Feedback
Now is the time to capture feedback from your Hope in Action 2025 experience. Think about the following questions, and discuss your thoughts with your Client Services Coordinator:
- When did you start preparing for Hope in Action?
- What was the most successful strategy you or your community used for Hope in Action this year?
- What would you like to improve or change in 2026?
- Which strategies could be fun to try in 2026 that you didn’t get a chance to try this year?
- Did you or your community share any emails or social media posts you’d like to replicate in 2026?
Capturing this feedback will serve two purposes: it will help you prepare for Hope in Action 2026, and it will influence your plans for making the most of GivingTuesday 2025 this December.
Say Thank You!
The most important thing you can do to keep your community engaged after Hope in Action is to send out a heartfelt message of gratitude.
Compose a thank-you message and plan to share it everywhere your community showed up for Hope in Action, whether that is via email, in text messages or messenger apps, in a social media post, or even in a short video.
Here are a few tips for thanking your community after Hope in Action.
Tip 1: Thank everyone who got involved.
You’ll want to thank everyone who made a donation on Hope in Action day – but don’t forget to also thank everyone who spread the word.
Supporters who may not have been able to donate this year will feel appreciated and respected when they see that you recognize how their likes, shares, or input made a difference, too.
If a few folks went above and beyond, whether by sharing your Hope in Action materials or making donations, consider thanking them with a personalized note.
Tip 2: Talk about how their support made you feel.
How did you feel on Hope in Action day? Grateful? Proud? Surprised? Energized? Overwhelmed? Hopeful?
Think about some of the emotions that this day of giving stirred up for you, and include an honest reflection in your thank-you message.
Let your community glimpse some of the emotional landscape you’ve experienced around fundraising. It will make them feel more connected to you and your campaign and make your Hope in Action thank-you posts feel more specific and less generic.
Tip 3: Share the impact whenever you can.
You may not have an immediate opportunity to showcase how donations and support on Hope in Action will make a difference in your life – especially if you’re fundraising for a large expense or ongoing medical costs.
You still want to show your community as much as you can about how their support makes a difference.
If you have any examples of how fundraising has made an impact on your life, share them – whether as part of your Hope in Action thank-you posts or in the weeks and months to come.
If you don’t have a tangible example to share, such as a cost you’ve been able to cover through fundraising, try starting by answering one of these questions:
- What has been the biggest obstacle you’ve overcome so far in 2025?
- What are three things you’re fundraising for that will improve your life?
- Are you getting closer to any big milestones or fundraising goals?
- What do you feel is possible in your future thanks to ongoing support and donations?
If you have the bandwidth to get a little creative with your updates, check out some of the video ideas in this blog post. If you’re not a video person, you can also translate the ideas to a text-based social media post or email.
Tip 4: Ask for volunteers for future days of giving.
Did any of your Hope in Action supporters this year express an extra dose of excitement or interest in getting involved with your campaign? If they did, take the opportunity to reach out to them to see if they might be willing to help out again for a specific push in the future.
As GivingTuesday draws closer, the time is now to recruit a few superstars who are willing to pledge their time and talent to your cause.
Ask individually whether any of your standout Hope in Action supporters would be available to help you spread the word about GivingTuesday once you’re equipped with our customized materials and Toolkit later this year.
