Dan Walker

In February 2025, 30-year-old Dan Walker was injured in an unprovoked attack. He is now living with paralysis from the chest down.
The community has shown up strong in Dan’s time of need, raising over $50,000 in 8 days.
Dan’s friend Marcus, who is assisting with the Help Hope Live fundraising campaign in Dan’s honor, says he has maintained his determination and focus post-injury and applied it to his rehabilitation efforts.

“If Dan is so driven to walk again, then who are we to tell him that he can’t?” Marcus explained to an NBC reporter.
“If cost is the inhibitor, we want to get that out of the way, and that is the goal.”
We’re grateful to the NBC team for giving us a chance to participate in this coverage and reinforce the importance of fundraising after a spinal cord injury for the lifelong costs insurance doesn’t fully cover.
