4-Year Akron Resident Ronaldo Hinton Needs to Raise $9,000
AKRON, Ala.—47-year-old Ronaldo Hinton has been battling liver disease and is now in need of a liver transplant. To make it possible, his medical team has advised him to raise $9,000. The community can help through a fundraising campaign in Ronaldo’s honor with the trusted national nonprofit Help Hope Live.

An Akron resident since 2022 with his partner, Shirley, Ronaldo lives a full and active life in the community. He loves fishing and being at the lake.
Liver disease changed everything. Ronaldo is now on a strict diet and struggles with insomnia, tiredness, and fluid retention. “It’s hard on my schedule,” he explained. “I miss out on a lot of social time.”
A liver transplant is a light of hope for his future. However, his medical team has told him to prepare for a minimum of $9,000 in transplant costs insurance will not cover, including 6 weeks of medical relocation.
