Cynthia’s Story

“The emotional and physical toll of this journey is immense, but the financial burden is equally overwhelming…”

55-year-old Cynthia Becvar of Willow Spring underwent brain surgery in 2023 and contracted meningitis. While being treated, Cynthia’s doctors found a life-threatening liver issue. She now needs a liver transplant to survive.

The loving mom of Andrew, 25, and Lauren, 27, is forced to fundraise to help cover the out-of-pocket costs of a liver transplant.

Cynthia will need to cover two to three months of temporary relocation to be near her transplant center in Pittsburgh—a cost insurance does not cover. To help with medical travel and other critical costs, her loving community has started a fundraising campaign with the trusted national nonprofit Help Hope Live

Donations are tax deductible at: https://helphopelive.org/campaign/25082/

“She has so much more life to live and love to give. She has always been the first to offer a helping hand…now, it’s our turn to be there for her.”

Donations to Help Hope Live are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and all funds raised will be administered by the nonprofit to cover verified medical and related expenses. Help Hope Live verifies medical and financial need for every patient.

Help Hope Live is a national nonprofit that specializes in engaging communities in secure, tax-deductible fundraising campaigns for people who need a transplant or are affected by a catastrophic injury or illness. Since 1983, campaigns organized by Help Hope Live have raised over $188 million to pay patient expenses. ###
