COMMUNITY CAN HELP DEDICATED VOLUNTEER GET TRANSPLANT
Give Conall Kingrey a Chance to Continue to Serve Couer D’Alene
COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho—For 72-year-old Conall Kingrey, a kidney transplant means more than good health: it means a chance to continue to serve the Couer D’Alene community. The perpetual volunteer and church usher has turned to the medical fundraising nonprofit Help Hope Live to fundraise for the extensive costs that insurance won’t cover to make a transplant possible.
Donations are tax deductible at: https://helphopelive.org/campaign/27448/
Conall is a 26-year resident of Couer D’Alene who spends his time volunteering to bring faith and communion to nursing home and assisted living seniors. He attends mass daily and serves as an usher, connected to local faith organizations including St. Thomas, St. Pius, and St. Joan.
“I sit with those who are dying, who don’t have anyone,” he explained.
Conall is currently reliant on dialysis sessions to stay alive until a kidney transplant can bring him new hope. However, finances can easily stand in the way of the gift of life: a kidney transplant costs over $446,000 on average before insurance.
“The surgery is covered partially by insurance,” shared Conall, “but the out-of-pocket costs are overwhelming.” Those costs are necessary to qualify for a transplant, including medical travel, follow-up visits, and a lifetime of anti-rejection medications.
To help with the cost, Conall turned to the trusted national medical fundraising nonprofit Help Hope Live. Donors have already raised $250 at: https://helphopelive.org/campaign/27448/
Unlike a GoFundMe campaign, donations to Help Hope Live are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and all funds raised will be administered by the nonprofit to cover verified medical and related expenses. Help Hope Live verifies medical and financial need for every patient.
Help Hope Live is a national nonprofit that specializes in engaging communities in secure, tax-deductible fundraising campaigns for people who need a transplant or are affected by a catastrophic injury or illness. Since 1983, campaigns organized by Help Hope Live have raised over $194 million to pay patient expenses, assisting more than 25,000 patient families. ###
