The Help Hope Live community put compassion into action in record numbers on our third annual Hope in Action on May 29, 2026, raising over $100,000!

We’re grateful to Melanie Gulbas and the News 12 Long Island team for sharing the story of the Plainview community rallying annually and year-round to support Help Hope Live in honor of Rebecca Koltun.

Living with Post Polio Syndrome (PPS), Scott had to retire from his multi-decade career and 6,000 volunteer hours visiting kids to provide life-changing canine therapy. Scott knew his medical challenges couldn’t be the end of his commitment to helping and healing others.

As of May 2026, the campaign in Kelson’s honor has raised over $20,000.

The community of 32-year-old Lindsey Kring is coming together to provide hope at a time of need through the national nonprofit Help Hope Live. Living with rare medical diagnoses, Lindsey needs help to cover the out-of-pocket costs of protecting her health and future.

Ellie Cooper was born following a devastating loss for her family. Now 3 years old, Ellie lives with cerebral palsy and other rare diagnoses. Ellie’s family needs a wheelchair van to continue to transport their precious “rainbow baby” safely around Boonton and beyond—a cost insurance will not cover.

On May 16, 2026, 200 runners, walkers, rollers, sponsors, donors, and supporters of all ages raised over $50,000 to support Help Hope Live at the 3rd annual Hope Travels 5K.

Through the fundraising campaign in Keather’s honor, Help Hope Live was able to fund the wheelchair lift that radically changed the teen’s life by making the entrance of her row home accessible to her.

Within the first 3 months, the community raised over $56,000 for Help Hope Live in Sean’s honor.

On May 23, 2026, the community will gather to walk, run, roll, and enjoy the 5th Annual Rally for Rebecca 5K Walk-Run-Roll and Fun Run at Plainview Old Bethpage Middle School. Supported by the Plainview Water District and Family Bagels as well as enthusiastic volunteers, the event will raise critical funds for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Rebecca Koltun.
